IRE spring training — Uplink Archive

IRE is offering multiple computer-assisted reporting (CAR) training events across the country, including Watchdog Workshops in Syracuse and Oklahoma City, a Money in Politics workshop in Los Angeles, and an intensive CAR Boot Camp in Columbia, Missouri.

A variety of IRE's upcoming on-the-road training events will feature CAR sessions.

The Watchdog Journalism series (www.ire.org/training/watchdogjournalism.html) designed for reporters and editors at small or mid-sized papers or bureaus of larger papers, will feature CAR training at several events. You must register for the Watchdog Workshop to attend the CAR sessions; space is limited.

IRE will conduct a Money in Politics workshop (www.knightnewmediacenter.org/seminars/archives/election_08_covering_politics_in_cyberspace) April 20-21 in Los Angeles in conjunction with the Knight New Media Center seminar on politics in cyberspace.

CAR Boot Camp, May 13-18, in Columbia, Mo. (www.ire.org/training/bootcamps/may2007.html) offers intensive training in spreadsheets, databases and how to use CAR in your news organization.
