What kinds of Internet sites are being bookmarked these days by web-savvy reporters? The right URL address can lead to aviation accident reports, campaign contribution databases, people finders, tax records for charities and prison inmate tracking systems. Sites discussed include Liszt for listservs, Google Groups, Profnet for experts, PubMed for health studies, PACER for court records, Martindale for lawyers, GuideStar for charities, OSHA for worker safety, and FedStats for federal figures.
Some of the best sites are maintained by reporters and researchers, such as the Journalist's Toolbox, Power Reporting, and The Reporter's Desktop.
